Oviedo Montessori School is a year round school with open registration that uses the true, traditional teaching method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. “Year round” means that we do operate during summer months, and “open registration” means that your child can be registered at any time during the year! We accept a child at the age of two, and their education can continue and include kindergarten at our school.

VPK Sessions 2009-2010

8:00 am to 2:00pm

Oviedo Montessori School participates in the VOLUNTARY PRE-KINDERGARTEN (VPK) program, which is State subsidized funding for the children of Florida residents who reach the age of 4 before September 1, 2009. Instruction is the same traditional Montessori Method for children participating in the VPK funding as benefits all students at our facility. Oviedo Montessori School is offering a longer day for 90 days to allow your child to play outside, eat lunch with his friends, and have advanced lessons from 12:30-2:00pm. Attending during these hours is paid for by the State and FREE* to the parents. Additional hours are available (wrap around hours) for children that need to stay later.

VPK funding is available to help insure the educational success of children in public school kindergarten. For your child to benefit the most from the Montessori experience, it is highly recommended that he/she continues her enrollment through the balance of the year before kindergarten begins. If you decide that the Montessori Method has benefited you child’s educational growth, you may choose for her to attend kindergarten at Oviedo Montessori School where she already feels at home. Many of the parents of our graduates report that their children are placed in “gifted” or accelerated programs when they enter public school. Parent testimonials are available online at www.Oviedomontessori.com.

In order to enroll for the VPK funding, you must obtain a certificate from the Seminole Coalition.

* The VPK state funding can only be used for one semester per child, anywhere in the state. A child that is registered for VPK can continue advancement in the Montessori Program by paying full tuition before or after the VPK funded semester.
